Summary: Business records of the L. Zeckendorf and Albert Steinfeld companies including correspondence, tax returns, bank statements, trust documents, property listings, business ledgers, architectural drawings, and financial reports but primarily business ledgers of various companies owned by or affialiated with Albert Steinfeld from 1894 to 1971. No personal correspondence or photographs are present in this collection. The only personal papers are financial in nature. Records of the Steinfeld Company include articles of incorporation, agreements, financial ledgers, legal documents, etc. Additional companies including investment and real estate ventures include financial documents for the Highland Park Realty Company, Suburban Improvement Company, Casa Grande Commercial Company, Chain Sanitary Grocery Company, Tucson Iron Works, Tucson Pressed Brick Company, and the Arizona Broadcasting Company, and others. There are financial ledgers for L. Zeckdorf & Co. from 1874 to 1906; early ledgers include supplies, purchase, dry goods and grocery listings. Other highlights include architectural drawings, mostly dated 1946 to 1970, for downtown buildings and El Con Mall including the Steinfeld's Warehouse, an Immigration Service building, and the new store in El Con Mall. Also present is one financial ledger, 1941-1944, for the El Conquistador Hotel; scattered payroll ledgers listing employees and pay rates, from the Steinfeld stores, 1908-1963; and a ledger for sales of explosives, 1917-1919.
